Inspiration
The term anxiety encompasses feelings of worry, fear, and unease. Although different types of medications which provide for temporary relief are used in the treatment of anxiety orders, they come with side effects and safety concerns. Anxiety Care offers a free forum for people to discuss which medication might be helpful and how to deal with specific anxiety symptoms and withdrawal symptoms. People can share personal experiences with medications that we, our family, or loved ones are taking and allow us to better understand what people with anxiety disorders are going through. It can connect patients, families, friends, and caregivers for support and inspiration.
What it does
In this forum, people post their own comments about certain medications related to anxiety disorders. Users can rate the drugs and ‘like’ the comments if they find this comment pretty useful.
How we built it
Firstly, we conducted the user requirements analysis, and determined the functions of this platform. Then we chose the technology to implement it. We used node.js for backend developments and Vue for frontend development.
Challenges we ran into
We are beginners in web developments, and have difficulties using frameworks and platforms to build a full-stack project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We improved our technical skills by developing a full-stack project, and learned how to cooperate with each other.
What we learned
We learned how to use bootstrap library to design our websites pages.
What's next for AnxietyCare
We want to analyze the keywords that appeared most often in the comments of a drug and put certain labels on this drug. Then, when people want to find drugs with similar attributes, they can type the keyword and then the related medicate products and the links to these drugs comments will appear.
