Inspiration
Going into TigerVerse26, our team wanted to make a project that was fun to code, fun to play, and accessible to everyone. These three goals resulted in Telekinetic Tennis.
What it does
Telekinetic Tennis is a simple tennis game where you playing against an AI opponent of varying difficulty. After hitting the tennis ball, you are able to control its speed and curve using just racket movements, thus, Telekinetic Tennis. Your in-game score in the shown to spectators live using an ESP32 and a LCD display.
How we built it
This project was built using Unity, C#, an ESP32, and a LCD Display.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge we faced was our general inexperience in VR development. Configuring the controller directions with the racket proves especially difficult.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our team is proud of how much we learned and how smooth and enjoyable the gameplay feels.
What we learned
Our team learned a lot about VR development in Unity, implementing controller and racket velocity, and C# practices.
What's next for Telekinetic Tennis
Full sets and matches, better serve mechanic, and possible power-ups?
Minimal AI used. No AI assets.
