Kobe Bryant has all inspired us to do what we love to do. That's why we integrated our passion for the game of basketball and our love for creating in order to create this project.

What it does

There are 3 different sized holes that act as our basketball nets (targets). The smaller the hole, the harder for the player to get the ball in and thus, the more points the player achieves for scoring in a smaller net. This is a two player game where the goal is to score 24 points in a faster time than your opponent. Player 1 shoots first and they continue to shoot until they reach 24. Player 2 then follows and Player 2 has to try to get to 24 in a faster time than Player 1 did.

How we built it

We used cardboard to create the nets. We used ultrasonic sensors and Arduino connected to breadboards which are below the nets to sense the ball coming through the net. We used I2C to connect the LCD to display the score of the game.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into the challenge of establishing a consistent sensor that doesn't sense objects that we do not want to be detected

We are proud of creating a project that is both fun and cool. We are also proud to celebrate Kobe's life in a positive way

What's next for TEK Basketball - A Tribute to Kobe

We plan to continue to add more features to the game. Including audio, images and a more accurate sensor are our main future priorities.
