What it does
TeenFit is a website that can be used by teens to help them gain their daily physical activity in a fun, routine way. With free analytics systems to analyze various aspects of your physical activity, advice to keep with long-term exercise habits, and teen-geared exercise ideas, this website was built to increase physical activity rates in teenagers.
How we built it
We built TeenFit by using Figma as our general framework. We coded our graphs and analytics systems with HTML/CSS/JS and then we embedded these onto Google Sites so that we could easily link them in our Figma Website.
Challenges we ran into
This was the first time we'd ever used Figma so we had to get used to it. Making the graphs with JS and HTML together also required a lot of debugging. We also ran into the issue of converting Figma to HTML/CSS. Ultimately, we used the google sites embed function and then linked the graphs to our Figma. :)
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we got to learn and get used to Figma, a cool way to do UI Design. Doing the Web Dev with the graphs also taught us a lot and opened up a lot of new ideas. Ultimately though, we're proud that we were able to incorporate our vision that we were passionate about, into functioning software.
What we learned
We learned a lot about Web Dev and Figma throughout this project. We also developed a lot of vision and insight that we hope to use for the future.
What's next for TeenFit
As next steps, we hope to bring TeenFit into App form. Apps are a much more appealing idea to teenagers as they use their phones and apps a lot. We hope to take TeenFit to the next level by incorporating organizational platforms such as a SMART Goal Generator and a simple journal for teens to organize their thoughts and to better balance their life.
