Canada's Youth Hospital

Inspiration

We are both inspired by cancer survivors, who are strong, brave and resilient. They inspire us and teach us that nothing is impossible. We are also inspired by the medical professionals that help youth with cancer.

What is our presentation about?

In our presentation we discuss 6 medical careers and how each career plays a key role in our youth hospital. We also discuss the education and experience you need to become a medical professional.

How we built it

To create our hospital design and the layout of individual rooms we used a website called Icograms. This website helped us bring our vision into reality, and create a 3D layout of each room in the hospital. We used Google slides to put together our presentation.

Challenges we ran into

There were few challenges such as working with our school schedule and organizing our time. We had to find times to virtually meet that worked with both of our schedules, and sometimes we had technical difficulties! Overall, this challenge was easy and fun.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of creating such a great hospital and coming up with a unique idea. We also enjoyed learning how to use a new website and being creative with our individual room designs. We are proud of how well we worked together to bring our vision to life!

What we learned

We learned how to collaborate, organize our time, and use a new website. We also learned a lot about different medical careers, and the educational requirements for each of them.
