Inspiration

Kids have incredible imaginations, but they don’t always have the tools or support to express them. TeddyTales was inspired by the idea of giving every child - regardless of background or resources - a creative space where their ideas shape the stories they hear. It’s about making learning accessible, joyful, and empowering.

What it does

TeddyTales generates personalized, interactive stories where kids can choose what happens next, all at a fraction of the cost of traditional storybooks. Parents and educators can adjust language difficulty, pick life lessons to highlight, or let the system tailor everything automatically. It’s a playful learning tool designed to support early literacy, creativity, and emotional growth for all children, regardless of social and financial background.

How we built it

LiquidMetalAI Raindrop for backend and smart components
Vultr Inference for fast, reliable model inference
ElevenLabs for natural voice narration
Pollinations.ai for simple, free image generation

Challenges we ran into

Getting up to speed with the LiquidMetal ecosystem, which centralizes a lot of systems we’re used to handling separately.
Narrowing the project scope to something both meaningful and aligned with the hackathon requirements.
Sorting out API keys, credits, and figuring out which services fit our workflow best.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Quickly becoming comfortable with Raindrop and using it effectively in an end‑to‑end app.
Building something we’re genuinely excited to share with our nieces and nephews.

What we learned

The AI landscape moves fast - many tasks that used to be complex can now be done conversationally.
Integrating multiple modern AI services can be surprisingly smooth with the right tooling.
