Inspiration
Ever since the beginning of my high school journey, I've held a deep fascination for technology. I had information about the latest Apple products and emerging gadgets. I possessed knowledge about setting up onion websites on the Dark web and hacking Instagram IDs. This passion ultimately prompted me to acquire skills in Python programming, a bit of AI, and web development. When I learned about this hackathon, an exciting idea crossed my mind. I wanted to combine my web development expertise with my fervor for technology and create a tech-focused blogging website.
What it does
You might be wondering what sets my tech blogging website apart, given the abundance of such platforms. The distinct feature of my website lies in its design. It's crafted to be visually captivating, compelling visitors to explore it with awe. When something is visually appealing, it naturally piques your curiosity and encourages you to delve deeper. As a result, visitors are drawn to read my blogs. If you've perused tech-related blogs or any blogs in general, you've likely encountered a simple layout and an abundance of text that can make it feel like reading a mundane newspaper filled with words. However, on our blog page, we've broken down the blogs into a sophisticated structure, making them visually enticing and practically demanding to be read.
How we built it
I created the website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I also incorporated several JavaScript libraries like Scroll Reveal, GSAP, Scroll Trigger, and AOS (Animate on Scroll) to enhance the user experience. At this point, I haven't integrated a backend as I'm currently in the process of learning backend development. To craft the blogs, I drew from both my personal knowledge and extensive research. For instance, I utilized my own expertise to explain topics such as setting up your own onion website. For other blogs, I conducted thorough research to delve into the latest trending subjects in the tech world. The goal was to make each blog feel like a distinct and independent website, providing a unique and engaging experience for the readers
Challenges we ran into
One of the primary challenges, and arguably the most significant, was to ensure that each blog had its own unique identity, making them feel like distinct websites. The objective was not only to deliver valuable content but also to make the blogs visually appealing. However, due to time constraints during the hackathon, not all the blogs achieved the level of visual appeal I aimed for. I am currently actively working on improving and enhancing the visual presentation of each blog. Another challenge I encountered was integrating a backend into the website. As a newcomer to backend development, I faced some efficiency challenges in this aspect. Consequently, I opted not to include backend functionality for now, but I do plan to incorporate it in the future.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
My most significant achievement that fills me with pride is that while not all the blogs achieved the level of visual appeal I aspired to, the ones that did, turned out to be absolutely stunning and breathtaking websites. These blogs not only featured remarkable content but also offered a top-notch presentation. The blogs are so visually captivating that readers are not only compelled to go through them once but are also enticed to revisit them again and again.
What we learned
This experience has been a tremendous learning opportunity for me, particularly in the realm of technology. It introduced me to the mesmerizing world of quantum computing, which I delved into while researching for my blogs. With each research effort, my understanding of technology expanded exponentially, deepening my connection with the tech universe. Moreover, I gained valuable insights into web development. I had the chance to explore brilliant and awe-inspiring libraries like Gsap and Scroll Trigger during this project. These experiences taught me how to incorporate jaw-dropping features into websites and create stunning layouts.
What's next for Techy Post
The next step for my tech-related posts, as mentioned earlier, is to integrate a backend system. My aim is to add functionality that enables anyone to create and upload blogs to the website. However, there will be an approval process where I will personally review each submission to ensure it meets the high quality standards I uphold.
