Inspiration
We wanted to participate in the Meta Horizon “Open Source Champions” competition and learn how remixable worlds can empower other creators. Our goal was to create something simple but reusable so that other beginners like us can get started quickly.
What it does
Our project provides a small remixable world + assets/tutorial that others can use as a foundation. It’s designed to be easy to clone, modify, and extend, helping creators save time while experimenting with Horizon Worlds.
How we built it
Explored Horizon Worlds creator tools
Designed a remixable template world (optimized for mobile & VR)
Added a reusable interactive asset
Documented the steps in a short guide/tutorial
Challenges we ran into
Learning Horizon Worlds creator tools for the first time
Optimizing the world to be lightweight but still engaging
Writing clear step-by-step documentation
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Building and publishing our first remixable Horizon World
Learning how to use open-source style sharing in a creative environment
Submitting on time and contributing to the community
What we learned
Basics of Horizon Worlds world-building
How to make remixable projects for others
Collaboration and sharing mindset from open source
What's next for TechX_Team
Add more reusable assets and templates
Improve the documentation with screenshots and video tutorials
Collaborate with more creators in future hackathons
