Inspiration

For this hackathon, we chose to tackle problem statement 3 under the CSIT track. In the modern job landscape, the lifecycle for tech jobs are getting shorter, and information on the available tech jobs isn’t readily available. Such information gap between the available job options and what individual are aware of may cause them to be unable to prepare themselves aptly for the changing job market. Moreover, with the wide array of job choices out there, it is difficult for job seekers to navigate and explore possible career paths, let alone choose a job that is the right fit.

This presents us with 3 main opportunities, to help job seekers to navigate the career paths in the tech industry, to raise awareness of the tech jobs available, and lastly, to assist job seekers in advertising themselves, starting from developing effective resumes.

What it does

TechUP has 3 key features.

1. Discover

An AI-enabled recommendation system that suggests jobs for users based on their personality, interests, skills and experiences.

2. Explore

A databank that uncovers all possible tech career paths one can uptake based on the Skills Framework to raise awareness of available jobs.

3. Resume

A resume generator feature that leverages Natural Language Processing to provide a better starting point for job seekers clinch their aspired jobs in the Tech Industry.
