Inspiration
As students we try to find way in which to stay organized, and we have noticed that a majority of the students we meet use Notion. But Notion isn't built for students, and is quite confusing for the vast majority of people. We wanted to take the great parts of Notion, but design them specifically with students in mind.
What it does
TechTask allows you to keep track of courses, tasks/assignments, and todos while also having a fully integrated calendar to keep your time well managed. We also implemented a feature where all users are in a database in which they can add tasks/assignments for courses they are enrolled in and which are then shared to all users.
How we built it
TechTask is fully built in Swift with cloud based integration through Google Firebase.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge we ran into was trying to utilize Firebase to enable GT login through our app.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we got a great starter application out in under two days, our team had prior commitments and obligations so we weren't able to get as much time as other may have but we managed to pull it off and implement our key features.
What we learned
We learned how to piece together an app, and how to plan and design and application to be scalable as well as cloud-based meaning that all user data is saved even after application exit or sign off.
What's next for TechTask
We plan to fully implement GT login, as well as add further use to our shared database starting off which shared course notes. We want users to be able to join courses, take notes, upload them, and have them viewable by anyone who is also enrolled in the course.
