Inspiration
The idea behind this project was to create a list of resources which can help anyone who wants to get into the tech community, ace technical interviews or find hackathons.
What it does
Our web application mainly has four features
Find Hackathons (A place to finds all the hackathons at once. List keeps updating every day so no need to check different places.)
Find Research Internships (A list of all research internships to help you find the best places to work at and gain some good experience.)
Leetcode Company Wise Questions (List of Leetcode Questions sorted on the based of companies to help you ace the technical interview.)
Student Programs (For the students, here are some programs like the MLH Fellowship and Google DSC Lead which can help your resume stand out.)
How we built it
Our team consisted of a data engineer and a react developer, we had split the roles so one of us did all the scraping and data collection part and the other did a lot of the React development.
For all of the features except find hackathons we scraped data from various websites because it was static but for find hackathons we made a cron job which scrapes data from many websites in due intervals.
Challenges we ran into
Setting up a cron job and making a smooth user interface was one of the biggest challenges that we faced.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We made something that would definitely help new developers who want to get into coding. A little bit from our side for the tech community.
What we learned
Setting up a cron job and scheduling tasks. Setting up analytics SDK with firebase.
What's next for TechSources
Adding more resources that students might need after taking feedback from them.
