Inspiration

Our inspiration for TechnoVoyage stemmed from a desire to make technology and resources more accessible to communities. We noticed that many people face challenges finding reliable technology access points, especially in underserved areas.

What it does

TechnoVoyage is a dynamic platform designed to help users locate free technology resources such as Wi-Fi hotspots and computer access points. By integrating an interactive map, users can easily find nearby locations based on their current needs, whether they require free Wi-Fi or access to computers. Additionally, our Resource Hub provides curated suggestions to help users improve their digital literacy and explore more relevant tools and information.

How we built it

Frontend: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a focus on creating an intuitive user interface. Backend: Combined multiple open datasets for wifi hotspots and free computer access locations, Used multiple javascript libraries to entegrate the data pool and the interactive location map.

Challenges we ran into

It was really hard to gather usable open datasets from multiple countries and multiple sites and combine them.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of the nice and basic design for the users and easy to-use interactive map.

What we learned

I've learned a lot about javascript, web design and of course data science!

What's next for TechnoVoyage

Our goal is to let users share their experiences with the Wi-Fi hotspots and Computer Access points and contribute to the data pool by sharing their own locations. Our dream is to possess the largest datapool containing locations and informations about the free technology access locations!
