Inspiration

Freelancers and creators juggle between multiple platforms.
Wanted to create one unified space for work, events, and community.

What it does

Lets users showcase work, find paid gigs, join communities, and explore events.
A true all-in-one builder-first platform.

How we built it

• Frontend: React.js + Tailwind CSS + TypeScript
  
• Backend: Node.js + Express.js + Socket.io for real-time features
  
• Storage: MongoDB Atlas, Cloudinary
  
• Deployment: Vercel + Render

Challenges we ran into

I got many bugs and errors in the chat feature
because we have two different chat routes — one for one-to-one chat and another for group chat.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Added real-time communication and built with clean, scalable code.
This project is ready to grow and evolve.

What we learned

You should always plan before starting a high-level project.
Build with scalability in mind from day one.

What's next for TechCollab

Need to improve gig suggestions based on user activity.
It requires a good recommendation algorithm — but I believe I can build it.
