We wanted to think of helping fellow students in our program. We believed that prioritizing these users helped us narrow our scope and idea for our project. We wanted to place ourselves in the shoes of our users, and identify a core issue that many BCIS/CS kids face. That issue being the uncertainty of what we really wanted to do in IT. The technological realm is constantly evolving and changing which makes it difficult for people to narrow down specific areas they want to specialize in. That being said, we wanted to create a project that can help these students transition into their technological journey by aiding them in choosing their expertise.
Some of the challenges that we faced was coming up with a concise scope at the start. Thanks to fellow mentors, we were able to prevent ourselves from wasting more time on the smaller tasks instead of the larger ones. Although we wanted to take this opportunity to challenge ourselves by attempting to learn React, we ultimately decided that we utilize the current skillsets from all team members combined. Skillsets included Figma, HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Given these skillsets, we prioritized front-end development. That being said, our deliverable consists of HTML sites that will demo a simulation of how these sites should be used.
