Inspiration

As time goes by, more and more college students had problems with students loans and on top of that spend money on everyday essentials. We were inspired to create a website that tracks students of their expenses, budget, and savings. This will help students to manage their money and not suffer long-term.

What it does

In Track-o-Expense, includes a tracker where you can set your budget and add your expenses. This will show you your remaining balance. With many students taking loans for tuition, students don't need even more loans to worry about. This will keep college students on track.

How we built it

We used Figma to create a framework and to make slides. It helped us to know what to make and how it should look like. We used HTML/CSS to front code to design the website. We also used javascript to build the tracker.

Challenges we ran into

We kept running into problems with the code for the tracker. We have tried to fix it by watching some youtube videos and looking at some examples. We have spent most of our time trying to make the tracker work. This was the most challenging part of the hackathon. Also, some of the styling was a bit difficult at times with all the different elements on the page.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of having an almost tracker made within the time given. Most of us were beginners and didn't have much to little experience in javascript. This is something that people will benefit from; we are happy that we could create something like this.

What we learned

We learned more about javascript as we used it for the tracker. We also learned how to communicate between people in different time zones. We learned to help each other on different platforms.

What's next for Track-o-Expense

We plan to make the tracker even better in the future and add a back frame to store user details. We also plan to make an app to make it more convenient.
