Inspiration
My inspiration is the techwear of the future made of composite materials.Combining this style with cyberpunk, sci-fi and digital fashion, I decided to create a variation of this cape using real-time simulation inside the Snapchat app.
What it does
Sewing a Cape at Marvelous Designer and simulate it inside Lens Studio
How we built it
After creating a model inside Marvelous Designer ( with UV-map) , i export model into Blender for extra remesh, sculpt and vertex paint. After testing the simulation inside Lens Studio and adjusting the sliders, I proceeded to create 3 textures and normal maps.In the final, I put the model, textures and animation together and, using the Behavior script, set up buttons to switch between textures of the cape model.
Challenges we ran into
I had to work a little with the mesh of the model and convert the model for dynamic tracking
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I understood even more how to properly retopologize a model in order to do even better in the future
What we learned
Retopology, Speed Texturing ( 3 textures for 4 hours)
What's next for TECH CAPE
In the future I want to make a whole collection of similar capes with different styles and functions.
