Inspiration
We were frustrated with the new system at Tec in Centrales, since it's very confusing and weridly designed, so we wanted to improve it
What it does
It facilitates buying food for the Cafeterías Tec system. Users can choose to either pay with credit card (either via the chatbot or the site) or pre-purchase the order and pay in person with cash.
How we built it
We build it using Ruby on Rails, and deployed it with heroku
Challenges we ran into
A team member left early into the Hackathon, plus we were really indecisive on choosing an idea since close to the event we found out most of our ideas were something already done
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We made it from scratch, and even without knowing much front-end we managed to get a decent-looking prototype. Plus we integrated a chatbot into the main-page
What we learned
We need to get organized and be more careful about choosing our teammates and our ideas.
What's next for TecFood
Hopefully expanding the platform's features and improving it's front-end
