Inspiration
Being faced with these problems ourselves, having started the second year, we found that since the pandemic was over, more clubs were offering events surrounding many different facilities and communities. Trying our best to attend all of them as a means of taking a mental break from our strenuous course load, we were finding that we wouldn’t find out about these events till they were over, unfortunately. This had happened not once but multiple times. And as a solution to this problem, we created the teams 4 u app, as a one-stop shop to access all these different events across faculty and different communities to connect with new students and have new experiences.
What it does
- Help students find events on campus based on their interests such as: Engineering, Business, Sciences, Sports/Fitness, Cultural, etc.)
- Users will be able to either sign in or sign up
- Favorite what events they’re interested in
- Learn about a specific team or event
- Keep track of favorite events
- Notifications enable
- Feedback page
How we built it
The app was built using Android Studio and firebase for the backend.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of the progress we made during the DeltaHacks hackathon. Despite the limited time frame, we were able to produce a functional android app that helps students find events on campus based on their interests. We were pleasantly surprised that we were able to tackle any logic and syntax errors that appeared with our limited prior knowledge from class and research. We're proud of our ability to produce an output from our code in such a short period of time.
What's next for Teams 4 U
- Calendar
- Able to RSVP within the app
- Connect with same interest as you
