Inspiration We were inspired by the everyday challenges teams face during meetings—endless discussions, scattered notes, and the constant struggle to keep track of action items. We envisioned an app that could automatically join meetings, transcribe the conversation in real-time, and convert key discussion points into actionable tasks, so team members could focus on what truly matters.

What it does Our app seamlessly joins scheduled meetings, listens and transcribes the audio in real time, and uses natural language processing to identify key action items. It then automatically creates corresponding Jira tasks and schedules follow-up events on Google Calendar, ensuring that nothing important slips through the cracks.

How we built it We built the app by integrating Google's speech-to-text services with robust natural language processing algorithms. Using APIs from Jira and Google Calendar, we connected these components into a cohesive workflow. Our agile development approach allowed us to quickly iterate, test, and refine each module, ensuring smooth interoperability across platforms.

Challenges we ran into Accurate transcription in real-world, noisy environments proved to be one of our biggest hurdles. Differentiating between multiple speakers and correctly identifying action items from casual conversation required fine-tuning our NLP models. Additionally, managing authentication and synchronization between diverse APIs presented its own set of technical challenges.

Accomplishments that we're proud of We're proud of delivering an end-to-end automation tool that not only enhances productivity but also simplifies the post-meeting workflow. By transforming live discussions into actionable tasks and scheduled events, our app has effectively reduced the cognitive load on team members and garnered positive feedback for its reliability and intuitive design.

What we learned This project deepened our understanding of real-time audio processing and the complexities of natural language processing in dynamic environments. We learned how critical robust API integrations are to creating a seamless user experience and discovered innovative ways to extract actionable insights from unstructured data. These insights have paved the way for future improvements in our tool.

What's next for TeamDigest Looking ahead, we plan to enhance transcription accuracy and expand integrations with other collaboration platforms. Our roadmap includes introducing advanced features like sentiment analysis, predictive task prioritization, and customizable workflows, all aimed at making our tool an indispensable asset for efficient meeting management.
