So you/ your student has (a suspension__ special needs__a counselling referral). Now what? TeamChild has created a comprehensive manual to guide you through the process, but that manual is buried in their website and - thanks to recent legislation - due for an update. Our goal was to bring the content of the manual out in the open, make it easy to access for someone new to TeamChild and unfamiliar with the rules of education advocacy. We created a streamlined site with simple navigation and a search function to help users access the information they need quickly. This resource is activated as an efficient and trustworthy asset for individuals and communities when they need it.

The next steps for this project would be the advanced coding resources to optimize the search function and make sure the site is responsive in multiple devices; brainstorming with TeamChild staff regarding the best way to assist family members who don't speak English as their first language; and linking to a database that exists on the Office of Superintendent of Public Education site that reports statistics about each school in Washington State. The site that we've built could be used throughout TeamChild (and many other service providers) as a way to take any large document and convert it into a more accessible format.
