Sentinel AI: Defending Truth in the Digital Age

🌟 Inspiration

In today's digital era, misinformation spreads faster than ever, fueling confusion and division. Inspired by the rising threat of deepfakes, fake news, and AI-generated propaganda, we set out to build Sentinel AI—a powerful AI-driven platform designed to combat misinformation, promote digital literacy, and empower users to discern truth from falsehood.

🚀 What We Built

Sentinel AI integrates multiple fact-checking, detection, and gamification tools to make truth-seeking engaging, accessible, and effective:

  • 🗺 TruthMap & TruthScan – Track misinformation globally and verify user-submitted content using AI-driven deepfake detection and sentiment analysis.
  • 🎮 TruthQuest – A gamified misinformation battle where players engage in PvP fact-checking, solve misinformation mazes, and decode propaganda.
  • 📚 TruthAcademy & Browser Plugin – The TruthAcademy educates users through courses and certifications, while our browser plugin flags misinformation in real-time.
  • 🤖 Advanced AI Processing – We built custom AI models leveraging GPT-4, OpenAI CLIP, Azure AI, and Sensity.ai to analyze text, detect deepfakes, and assess sentiment bias.

🛠 How We Built It

We combined React (frontend), FastAPI (backend), and AI models for analysis. Data is sourced from Twitter, Instagram, and web scraping, processed by our fact-checking and deepfake detection AI, and visualized through an interactive UI. Our gamification engine keeps users engaged with real-time challenges and leaderboards.

  • Building robust AI models—we fine-tuned GPT-4 for text verification and leveraged deepfake detection APIs to identify synthetic media.
