Inspiration
Many museums are integrating personal mobile devices to enhance the guest experience. We considered that and decided to use QR codes to collect data on visitor behaviors.
What it does
When a guest scans a QR code, it will direct them to a link that congratulates them for "collecting a relic" and give us user data behind the scene. This is a simple scavenger hunt game that guests can play throughout their visit and, in the end, win a prize. The website will also show users what relics they have collected and where they can find them.
How we built it
We first created a prototype on Figma and then imported it into TeleportHQ. From TeleportHQ, we created a website and linked it to a QR code.
Challenges we ran into
This was our first time using QR codes as a developer and not a user. We want to collect user data when someone scans the link, but we found it difficult to do that. We also found it challenging to design and create the front end with such a short time limit.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to have a working app and something to show our ideas.
What we learned
We learned that user experience is very important.
What's next for Team8BMS
There are many more ideas we can implement to enhance user experience. We want to implement features that improve visitor safety such as sensors.
