SIXT Full Flex
Current mobility offerings by Sixt already cover a lot of ground, ranging from Sixt Share, which allows users to rent cars by the minute all the way to Sixt+ Auto Abo, which aims to simplify traditional car ownership. Nevertheless, we believe that through further optimization and smart combination of current services, current users can be served better, new users can be reached and even global challenges may be overcome.
Personal Car Ownership
... remains a necessity for a great many people. People without access to public transport, specifically in rural areas, can not even begin to think about abandoning their car.
Electric Car Charging
... is one of the primary challenges with rolling out electric fleets into current car sharing systems. Electric cars are more expensive to buy and the infrastructure to charge them is still lagging behind.

"That just sounds too good to be true"
We knew you'd say that! Thats why we have the stats to prove that what we are proposing is possible. Through the use of state-of-the-art population simulations, we calculated multiple paths towards success - depending on how circumstances are looking when starting out.
"I still don't really get it"
Thats why we didn't stop there! In addition to proving and creating the statistical, technical and mathematical foundations of our concept, we also created a prototype of the new plan in Flutter - ready to bew worked with right now!
How we build it
While the prototype app was build in Flutter (using multiple Google SDKs), the data analysis, simulation and visualization work was done using a combination of numpy, seaborn and sklearn applied on data created by intelligent bots, bidding on a virtual representation of the actual fleet. Pure game theory feeling!

Challenges / What we learned
As we are a team with very different technical backgrounds and skillsets, it was equally challenging and educational to get to work collaboratively. As it turns out, good communication and humor can make up most of the work! :)
Whats next for SIXT Full Flex / Team85?
Well, sleep. Afterwards, we want to explore ways to make some of our findings and proposals available in a useful fashion - however that might look like.
