Inspiration
Survey’s shows that women in rural areas suffered from various menstrual disorders. This as an attempt to contribute to the betterment of these women and serve the society. Our aspiration is to eliminate the difficulties faced by the rural women in the society.
What it does
Luna Pulse is an application that tracks and predicts menstrual cycle duration and dates. It also has a PCOS detection feature based on certain symptoms. This application also Connects NGO and Doctors to rural masses by booking visit dates.
How we built it
We started by making a linear regression model for period cycle prediction. We then made a classification model for PCOS. Next we connected these models to the frontend which was made in StreamLit.
Challenges we ran into
Integrating the Frontend and backend with a big team was a challenge. Also integrating the model with the system and database and reflecting the changes in realtime was also a challenge. We had to make sure all models and databases were interconnected.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the fact that we successfully merged all of our files into a fully functioning one, as that was one of the biggest challenges we faced. We are also take pride in completing our first ever hackathon.
What we learned
We learned how to work on a project in a team, co-ordinating our Git commits and project updates through GitHub. We learned how to work in a high-pressure setting with a deadline. We learned how a project is implemented from the ground up from the ideation to the final implementation
What's next for Team764-LunaPulse
We are planning to scale up our website and add a few new features. We are also planning to implement real-time GPS tracking to detect nearby clinics for the users as an alternative to our database. In the long run, we aim to deploy the LunaPulse app for Android as well as iOS users to be able to help a greater number of women in rural areas
