What is The Weather App
Exactly what it says on the box, it delivers exactly what you want it to deliver when you want it to deliver.
What it does
The Weather App utilizes UI Path to scrape the web for accurate weather data for virtually any city in the world and stores them on your mobile and/or your desktop. Moreover, it notifies you periodically of weather updates for your listed cities.
How I built it
The Weather App was built using a variety of technologies, most specifically, dart with flutter for the primary mobile application; Javascript, HTML, and CSS for the desktop/web applications; and finally python for REST API development.
Challenges we ran into
The most significant challenge was random updates and depreciation of code bases and documentation. Many a time, a lot of documentation I was referencing was quite outdated (mainly with packages for certain applications).
Unfortunately, this problem spiraled out of control as the competition ended as causing the primary features I have spent the last few days coding and finalizing to not be complete. I do intend to complete the mobile app in the next few days (so look out for that)!
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
The main thing I am proud of is that I was able to get though and submit along with a host of code, which may not be done, but is high quality, functions, and can be built upon in the future. Moreover, despite a host of complications and challenges (especially on submission day, like my laptop not recording all of a sudden), I was still able to show my work.
