Every year, KHS participates in the FIRST Robotics Competition (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIRST_Robotics_Competition). Each year, a new game is released, filled with exiting challenges for mechanical, electrical and software engineers. This year (2015), the game was called Recycle Rush (rules and how to play can be found here: http://youtu.be/W6UYFKNGHJ8). It was definitely challenging, considering we used a complex drive train called mecanum. This was also an interesting year for the coding team because FRC finally supported Java 8 (JSE)! Until then, we had to use v1.3 (JME)! Overall, it was a fun year and I am, as always, looking forward to 2016.
