SafeRoute is a smart personal safety application developed to improve user security during travel. The application combines live GPS location tracking, interactive maps, and an Emergency SOS feature that allows users to quickly alert their trusted contacts in critical situations. Unlike traditional navigation apps that focus only on reaching a destination, SafeRoute focuses on user safety by providing emergency assistance and location sharing. The project is built using React, JavaScript, Capacitor, and Java, enabling it to run as a native Android application while accessing device features like GPS and SMS. Its modular architecture also makes it easy to integrate future features such as AI-powered safe route recommendations, nearby emergency services, and real-time danger alerts. SafeRoute aims to provide a reliable, user-friendly, and scalable solution for students, women, senior citizens, and solo travelers.
