Inspiration: Information gone viral resonated with me as I remember following a trend in high school. My friends and I would look up compilations of childhood songs and compete to figure out what it does.
What it does: It derives the most upvoted songs from the subreddit r/music and creates a trivia game to test one's musical knowledge.
How we built it: We first gathered all our data through python and the Reddit Api praw then created a front end back end server with ngrock.
Challenges we ran into: We ran into challenges with our knowledge in coding. Our group had little to no experience with html, javascript and servers. Therefore much of the time spent hacking was also spent learning
Accomplishments that we're proud of: Understanding the process between front end and back end servers. We learned a lot more about various website apis. We have all developed a better sense of how to learn about coding overall.
What we learned: How to better manage our time and overall coding. None of us knew much about coding the stuff we wanted to do till today. Shoutout to Kevin for being such a great help
What's next for team1: Adding a categories to our app and getting it to function smoothly. Another addition could be a profanity filter
