Inspiration
Vivian was inspired by the struggles that many Caribbeans face when trying to use smart technology with speech recognition software that does not register their English-based accents or language.
What it does
Vivian takes a user's input and automatically generates text as if the user and Vivian we having a conversation.
How we built it
Vivian uses python libraries from OpenAI and other AI contributors to mock an interaction a Caribbean person might have when using similar smart technology.
Challenges we ran into
There is a lack of audio and text data regarding Caribbean languages to generate a sufficient dataset for advanced ML modeling and capabilities.
