Inspiration
Inspired by Facebook's investment of 10,000 people into Oculus, and many mom and pop retailers in the US shutting down due to competition and the pandemic, something must be done to help mom and pop compete online and drive engagement back in-store.
What it does
Produce a pleasant 3D retail experience in the web-browser, offering a compelling reason to come to a mom and pop retailer's e-commerce website. Amazon doesn't have this 3D experience!
(It also ports over to Oculus Quest 2, a current-generation VR headset by Facebook, available to consumers for $300)
How we built it
MACH-based composable architecture Unity 3D
Challenges we ran into
No front end dev on the project Inexperience with Vue.js, nuxt, Vue storefront
Accomplishments that we're proud of
-3D scene works and is live -Easy port to Oculus Gear VR 2 -Could add real-world benefit to mom and pop now and in the upcoming years to compete against Amazon and to differentiate vs local competition -Our creative/video! -Learning
What we learned
A great front end developer would have made a huge difference Don't do it all last minute Not the best programmer in the world after all
What's next for 3D Showroom by Team Victory
