The Quit Companion combines the insights of a year long study by US Health and Human Services with the power of your support team to get to the heart of what will help you quit smoking. It's not a reminder program, it's an experience that helps you connect with your internal motivation to make the most important decision of your life -- to quit smoking. You will experience a program developed by behavioral psychiatrists to empower you to find your own strength, and you will tap the power of a couple of friends and loved ones to help in your journey. The Tech Stuff: The mobile experience interacts with the consumer and feeds a message optimization engine that changes the mix and frequency of messages the consumer receives. The platform identifies those messages that drive longer program retention and engagement, rotates "out" ineffective messages and is constantly testing new content in search of higher impact.
The platform uses the technology of behavioral ad networks (which seek to deliver the best message to a consumer based on the smallest amount of information) with the insight of behavioral psychiatrists to create personalized smoking cessation experiences.
INNOVATION: The "curated" engagement of your support team fights the natural decay that occurs within all support groups. Support Team members that are given specific events and actions (e.g., your friend has had a bad day, please select one of these eight images to show some love) have a 95%+ participation rate. Additionally, as the platform interacts with the patient, it reaches out to their support team to both collect additional "adherence content" as well as do focused "vitality" messaging ranging from your spouse getting a text saying "Bo has had three rough days in a row" to your doctor's phone ringing with a "Bob is two week's late picking up his smoking cessation prescription".
EVIDENCED-BASED/DATA-DRIVEN: the kernel of the initial messaging is based on the Health + Human Services smoking cessation research that created their QUITTEXT program. The platform builds on those initial insights with an optimization engine that is constantly adding/deleting messaging content and optimizing against engagement.
POTENTIAL IMPACT: this program can be easily modified for any language, and also has a "lite" version which is text only for non-smartphone/lower-income users.
DATA DOWNLOADS: the program stores user engagement data which can a) be shared/sent to a physician, as well as b) automatically trigger outbound communication.
