What it does

Allows you to get anonymous counseling from a peer in your community long term.

How I built it

Android JAVA, Web, Backbone JS, Layer API

Challenges I ran into

The challenges were more business oriented than code oriented. Tried convincing institutions to buy in to the app, but learnt that it might be better to look at student mental health clubs (Common Roots, Active Minds, and NAMI chapters) for counselors and students as users.

What's next for Team Roots

Team Roots is now Glia Mental Health. There's new things happening everyday. We are doing a field test the end of this summer at the USC Medical School with about 200 potential users.
