Inspiration
We were inspired by the story of many patients who suffered from medication errors due to various reasons, such as rushed alternative methods or impulse decision-making by caregivers. We wanted to help find ways to benefit the healthcare industry as it's one of the largest yet not talked about industries there is. We wanted to find ways to help decrease errors found in the hospitals and invite people to understand more about the healthcare world.
What it does
Prescription Pal, in short, is intended to act as a "multi-factor" authentication process to validate that the correct prescription is being distributed at every step of the way to the patient.
How we built it
We developed the prototype using Figma to demonstrate the view from two perspectives: the primary view of the doctor and the secondary view of the nurse before distribution.
Challenges we ran into
We were facing many challenges dealing with how the chain of authentication would process, as well as what health information individuals would be able to see based on HIPPA concerns.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of utilizing Figma for the very first time to produce a sufficient app prototype, as well as being able to integrate health policy concerns into our discussions when developing the app.
What we learned
We learned how to use Figma for the first time, as well as experiencing the product development process in a fast-paced environment.
