Inspiration The goal was to build single, transparent digital hub that centralizes research, financing, and support. It was also inspired by creating a tool we wished we had for car shopping.

What It Does We built a single website that acts as a complete digital car consultant. Our core features let customers:

Compare Instantly: See Toyota models, trims, and option side-by-side with accurate prices and specs.
Calculates the Finances: Our integrated tool lets you build your personalized finance plan right on the site, so you know exactly what you'll pay.
Get Help & Get It Instantly: We added a live tech chat so you can get instant answers without ever leaving the platform. *Ability to Save Your Work: You can log in, save all your favorites and research, and when you're ready jump straight to check out.

How we built it

Frontend: For our frontend framework React, to build the entire user interface. With this usage it allowed us to create dynamic responsive features users need, like the instant side-by-side comparison tool and the quick interaction with the finance planner.
Backend: Our back-end was powered by Node.js and Python. Through the backend we were able to secure user authentication, managing the logic of the finance calculator, and being able to organize the complex database of Toyota specs and pricing.
JavaScript: With the help of JavaScript the core language powering the interactivity on the front-end and often managing the server-side logic. Which allowed us to build and maintain the platform with speed and efficiency.

Challenges we ran into

User Experience(UX): Making sure that this powerful tool with complex data remained simple and intuitive for the average customer.
Data Consistency: Primary hurdle was standardizing Toyota's complex, changing pricing, and spec data across all models.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Integrated Workflow: Successfully created a smooth, time-saving jump from comparison directly to finance planning.
Accurate Data Display: We were able to present large volumes of complex data in a clean, understandable side-by-side format.

What we learned

User-Centric Design: Focused on simplifying the complex back-end logic into a simple and easy to use front-end.
Full-Stack Management: We gained practical experience managing the range and dependencies of a full-stack application with real time features.

What's next for MyToyotaWay?

Expand Data Depth: We can focus on deeper spec data for the current model as far as detailed trim differences and warranty information. To be able to enhance the comparison tool's value immediately.
Refine Finance Calculator Logic: Audit to ensure our finance tool accurately reflects the most common regional sales taxes and fees.
