Inspiration

We were motivated by the anxiety and effort career planning and preparation can often take, particularly among students and new entrants to the workforce. When it comes to resumes, careers, and skill display, many people find it difficult. We sought to create an AI-driven solution to make this easier.

What it does

The CareerHelper AI Generator is an online tool designed to generate resumes and offer career advice. Users provide their skills, experience or interests and the tool generates related content with the help of AI. This speeds up and simplifies creating professional documents.

How we built it

We developed the app using Next.js and React for user interfaces, TypeScript for maintainability and scalability. We used Supabase for the backend, including authentication and database management. AI is used to provide customised output according to user input.

Challenges we ran into

Connecting google authentication into our applications but we solved it by using a firebase. We also faced issues with configuring the development environment and ensuring everything ran smoothly across different systems.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of the UI and user friendly features on an application. We were also successful in developing a functional full-stack application in a short time. We managed to get AI and API services work as well as integrate them with other services.

What we learned

We learned a lot about prompt engineering. We also gained experience in getting started with next.js and Supabase. We also set up a debugging process, dependency management and variable handling. We also enhanced our skills in using AI.

What's next for Team Ratatouille

We plan to add a reset button for the text input and introduce more features to better support students. We are also considering a feature that allows users to connect with professionals in the careers they are interested in.
