Inspiration
Originally, we were a team of four working on a project in the Roblox path. However, after hearing about Sperry Tech's origins during the Career Connect session, along with some other external factors, we decided to split into two teams and switch tracks.
One of the challenges we faced while building was that our original results weren’t as appealing as we had hoped. After switching to tools we were more familiar with, paired with one new tool, the development process started to feel much more natural and comfortable.
What We Learned
Throughout the experience, we learned that technology is needed in even fields you wouldn’t traditionally expect, such as construction. We also learned how to incorporate Clerk for authentication alongside Figma and Supabase. One of the workshops in particular inspired us to experiment with these tools and apply what we learned to our project.
Takeaways
Overall, the biggest lesson we took away was that it’s never too late to start over, as long as you’re passionate about what you’re doing and willing to put in the work.
