Inspiration

Expanding compass to do more, as someone monitoring a component you want to know more about the team involved.

What it does

Allows users to add further information about the team managing a component, this enables anyone to easily see the roles, skills and any absence for the team

How we built it

With Forge, Custom UI and React

Challenges we ran into

Lack of Compass API to get team info. At the beginning of the project I made the assumption the documented Compass API calls to get team info were available. Unfortunately they were not, therefore the app has the ability to add team members manually, until the API calls are available.

Atlaskit and React compatibility. Atlaskit is only compatible with Reach 16 and below, therefore I had switch to a different UI system to use advanced components such as a calendar view.

What's next for Team Health for Compass

Utilising APIs to avoid manual entry of team members
Retrieve profile details from Atlassian team info
Improving the interface to add absences and potentially extending to link the iCal feeds
Allow users to manage the skills list, which is currently static
