Inspiration
We noticed a common problem in our own gym routines: despite consistent effort, it was hard to track real progress. Weight records were scattered, streaks were lost, and motivation often waned. We wanted a solution that makes progress visible, measurable, and motivating, something that helps people stay accountable to their fitness goals. That’s how Athletix Core was born.
What it does
Athletix Core is a smart workout companion that: Logs exercises, weights, reps, and sets. Tracks progressive overload to suggest when to increase weight. Monitors workout streaks for accountability
How we built it
All of us are somewhat familiar with python, and have been using it in visual studio code for our computer science class. We used this combination and found after searching that tkinter was the most recommended for making easy to build UI, which was the import we used.
Challenges we ran into
The hardest challenge we ran into was how to animate the streak counter, and overall learning tkinter, but we were able to overcome both challenges.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
There are no bugs in the demo, and it works. Which when added to the fact that it's not visually appalling, we find to be a big win.
What we learned
A good foundation in tkinter, and we worked on our team cooperation and sleep resistance.
What's next for Team HANA
Add a graph history for any and every exercise, add a custom workout builder, add timers inbetween sets based on your goals, and overall develop this further into an app, and eventually push it out to the masses.
