Inspiration
There has been a point where each person in my group has wanted to support a creator whether it’s through their videos and content, even if it’s just answering a Quora question.
Creators will often have an account for PayPal, Cashapp or even a cryptocurrency wallet address to enable these tips.
As a result, the creators would have to manage multiple links that would then be pasted on their video description or media post bio, leading to an ugly wall of text that is hard to read or can eat up the character count limit. Overall this is just a mess for both parties.
What it does
Our simple solution for managing this mess is with our Tip.Me page Online content creators will be able to have their own page listing their accepted payment options that can be accessed via a shortened single URL that they can post rather than the cluster of links as before. As the URL is static, it makes it easy to manage legacy posts as the changes to the payment options and addresses can be modified on the Tip.me page.
How we built it
For front end we used HTML/CSS with Bootstrap. Back end we used python, flask, SQLite for our database
Challenges we ran into
We were all first time hackathoners so getting things done quickly was a challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Completing a full functioning website and being able to execute our idea!
What we learned
How to collaborate and listen to each others ideas.
What's next for Team Golf
A single location where payment links and options can be stored that can quickly be accessed and referenced by anyone in the world may sound like a simple tool, however, this has the potential to become the next virtual business card. Just like how everyone would post a link to their email, Facebook, twitter, Instagram - Tip.Me has the potential to join the ranks as easy to use quick referencing payment directory that could be included in the list to a person’s online bio.
