The least inclusive industry in current times is the beauty industry. There are a lot of disabled people who can't access beauty products and feel left out. Being designers and developers, we read about WCAG guidelines and further researched into it and that's how we decided to make THE MOST INCLUSIVE eyeshadow ever!## What it does
How we built it
We conducted market research including a competitive audit and SWOT analysis with a detailed study on the hardware and it's costing and weight which gave us the result. Users can set the intensity of the eyeshadow to be applied on the eyelid within the app using the intensity meter and then can command the device to fill the container with a fixed amount of makeup paste.
The product can re-fill itself if left stuck in a refill makeup paste blob and given a refill command from the device.
The app provides you with an 'Eye Chart' option so that you can create and save multiple styles and save them with colours having different intensities so you don't have to go and create the exact shade again and again.
The app also gives you the option to test yourself for colour blindness by providing 3 different kinds of tests: Ishihara test, Tritan test and Farnsworth Munsell 100 hue test which will at least give you an idea of what kind of colour blindness you might be suffering from.
Our app also gives you tutorials on how a colour-blind person can compare the colours they cannot see against a colour that's perceivable by them to get a better idea of the colour they are dealing with. This idea is taken from a colour blins makeup artist Andria Tomlin who uses the same technique.
Challenges we ran into
Not having any direct user testing groups led us to assume some of the difficulties they might be facing and if some of our solutions are actually effective and if yes then to what extent.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We have given eye charts, colour blindness tests and refill blobs along with our USP of setting INTENSITIES beforehand is our biggest accomplishment.
What we learned
We learned that having a user base and making a product that is inclusive of all takes up a lot of research and time and there's always more scope to better up the product for disabled people.
What's next for IntensEyez
The future scope of IntenseEyez has still a lot to discover which includes providing users with Optician's support directly through the app according to the tests given by them, they can contact various makeup artists out there for better understanding since they have been devoid of this feature for so long etc.
