Inspiration
Homelessness is a large problem in Hawaii. In participating in GlobalHack 6, we all wanted to learn more about the issues that create it and better understand ways to tackle homelessness.
What it does
Our app provides a transparent workflow and statistical data for agencies to increase efficiency by targeting pain points in their day to day operations.
How we built it
We used the ionic framework, angular.js, and firebase to provide a real time solution for homeless outreach agencies to improve their coordination.
Challenges we ran into
tags covering whole pages. Managing sleep for our first weekend hackathon.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to rapidly develop a mobile application in around 48 hours.
What we learned
Don't commit on 2 hours of sleep. Don't wait 12 hours to commit. NoSQL is confusing. I miss queries and triggers.
What's next for Team Cobra (Sharks)
Bringing the knowledge we gained in St. Louis to better analyze the homelessness problems in Hawaii.
