Inspiration
We were inspired by the need to have mechanics assistants and the shortage of such labor
What it does
The bot gets a command to pick up a tool and fetches it for its owner
How we built it
The bot runs on a Raspberry pi OS. The bot receives command using code written in C++ and integrated with python
Challenges we ran into
Learning to use and thrive within the Linux environment proved hectic. We also had some trouble training our visual recognition model
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to explore tools used in visual perception and also sharpened our skills in python for AI
What we learned
We learned how to work with APIs , how to use different training platforms and various techniques that go into making visual perception using AI possible
What's next for Team 7, MechaMate
We hope to enhance our project and make it accessible so that it reaches those who inspired us to make it
