This project investigates the systemic corruption prevalent in Latin America, focusing on the critical role of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and their relationship with governments. Using Brazil’s Operation Car Wash as a case study, it evaluates the short- and long-term impacts of anti-corruption policies that emerged from the scandal and explores their effectiveness in reducing corruption. The project aims to provide tailored policy recommendations based on accountability, integrity and transparency to mitigate corruption and foster sustainable governance and equitable practices in Latin America.
