Inspiration
Alzheimer's disease is a progressive neurodegenerative condition that affects memory and cognitive functions. If left untreated, the disease can lead to severe brain impairment and the loss of everyday task abilities. Patients with Alzheimer's require continuous support from family members for proper medication and care. However, caregiving can be overwhelming for one person due to the disease's demands.
Our Motive
Our goal is to enhance the well-being and quality of life for those impacted by Alzheimer's, providing both medical assistance and a caring, empathetic environment which could slow down the rate to memory degradation and could also reduce the dependency on the caretaker. And detect the alzeimer's stages
How we built it?
Our support application “AlzConnect Spryzen” stores precious memories like images and videos to evoke emotional connections and as medication reminders for Alzheimer's patients. Our website is dedicated to utilizing state-of-the-art MRI analysis techniques to detect Alzheimer's disease at an early stage. We aim to provide accurate and reliable diagnoses that can significantly impact patient outcomes.
Challenges
Selecting a topic that is oriented to the theme 'Tech for good ' and not 'tech for ease' was a challenge. Training the model with good accuracy was challenging. Adding images and videos into flutter app was another big challenge as it has a small growing community.
Accomplishments
We were able to detect the Alzheimer's stage through the website. We could add the users' images and reminders into the support application. Our application is capable of being modified by the care-taker and used by the Alzheimer's patient.
Learnings
We were able to get deeper insights on our technologies. We learnt few of the most important non-technical skills such as good communication and team work.
What's next?
We have decided to add audios (family and loved ones) in notifications for timely medication of the Alzheimer's patients.
