Inspiration
With misinformation spreading rapidly online, we wanted to create a community-driven solution to verify information. By integrating SingPass for authentication, we ensure credibility and accountability.
What it does
TruthLink is a forum-based platform where users can post questionable information for public discussion and verification. Professional volunteers can also provide insights at their discretion.
How we built it
We developed TruthLink using Node.js, Express, and EJS for the backend and frontend. Authentication is handled via SingPass integration. (to be implemented)
Challenges we ran into
Ensuring a seamless user experience while maintaining verification credibility was a challenge. Implementing secure authentication and planning AI integration for future improvements required deep consideration.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully built a functional platform that empowers the community to counter misinformation while ensuring user authenticity through SingPass.
What we learned
We gained insights into secure authentication, community-driven fact-checking, and future AI-enhanced misinformation detection techniques.
What's next for TruthLink
We plan to integrate AI to detect similar posts for faster responses and allow image uploads for better misinformation analysis.
