💤 MallowMask: A Better Way to Wake Up

🔍 Inspiration

In shared spaces like dorms and apartments, loud alarms don’t just wake one person. They wake everyone. Traditional alarms increase stress and disrupt sleep health. We were inspired to create something gentler and more private using sensory science.

🛠 Hardware

• Soft eye mask base with breathable materials
  
• Embedded LED strip to simulate gradual sunrise
  
• Thin-film heating elements across the forehead
  
• Small vibration motors near the temples
  
• Optional light and pressure sensors
  
• Powered by a compact microcontroller system

💻 Software

• Custom mobile app to set alarm preferences
  
• WiFi communication between app and mask
  
• Wake mode and wind-down mode customization
  
• Adjustable light brightness, temperature, and vibration levels

🔄 System Flow

1. User configures wake or sleep mode in the app
   
2. At the scheduled time, the mask activates in sequence
   
3. Light increases first
   
4. Gentle warmth begins
   
5. Vibration slowly ramps up
   
6. All systems shut off after wake-up
