Inspiration

We joined this competition to challenge ourselves in a hands-on AWS environment and improve our cloud problem-solving skills. What inspired us most was the opportunity to work through realistic technical scenarios instead of only learning concepts in theory.

What it does

This project showcases our work across a set of AWS challenges involving cloud troubleshooting, security, storage, website debugging, and AI-assisted financial analysis. It highlights our ability to identify problems, investigate root causes, and apply the correct fix using AWS tools and services.

How we built it

We worked through each challenge by analyzing the instructions, identifying the AWS services involved, and testing different approaches based on evidence. We used Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, Amazon SageMaker, and Amazon Bedrock, along with browser developer tools and notebook environments, to investigate errors and validate solutions.

Challenges we ran into

A major challenge was that many problems were not obvious at first. We often had to trace issues through permissions, object properties, network requests, and model outputs before finding the actual cause. Time pressure and strict answer formatting also made the competition more challenging.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we successfully solved multiple AWS scenarios across different service areas and gained much more confidence in cloud troubleshooting. We are especially proud of how we stayed persistent, learned quickly, and improved our approach with each challenge.

What we learned

We learned the importance of debugging systematically, validating assumptions, and understanding the behavior of AWS services rather than guessing. We also learned how better prompt design can improve the quality of AI-generated outputs in analysis tasks.

What's next for Team 26

We want to keep building on these skills by exploring more advanced AWS workflows and eventually applying what we learned to our own cloud-based projects. This competition gave us a strong foundation in technical problem-solving that we want to keep growing.
