Empathera seeks to revolutionize pressure ulcer prevention. We are developing an integrated system that can sense the onset of pressure ulcers and activate mechanisms to generate blood flow and proactively prevent them. With these devices, we will collectively benefit nurses (who conduct time-consuming, physically-demanding care), patients (who suffer significant health complications from pressure ulcers), and hospitals (who foot the cost of malpractice & seek better quality ratings).
