Inspiration
When we first started ideating as a team, we realized we were all frustrated with how hard it was to find basic cleaning supplies when we needed them most. Rishabh had made several trips for disinfectant recently only to come home empty handed and exposing himself to public crowds. We thought there must be a simpler way to shop that could be helpful to other folks in the community.
What it does
re-Stock app would track availability of essential supplies locally and crowd-source information from customers to enable more efficient shopping trips while encouraging customers to help their fellow neighbor. re-Stock would track supplies such as toilet paper, disposable masks, disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, and other essentials.
How we built it
We used Figma and power point to sketch out our basic prototype.
Challenges we ran into
A potential risk of the app is that it may incentive crowds or panic buying. We thought creatively about incentives and monitoring to mitigate this risk.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our first time working together as a team!
What we learned
How to brainstorm and work collaboratively on a quick-paced project while still social distancing.
