Inspiration

The inspiration for Complaiddit came from the need to address the labor shortage caused by an aging population and the lack of an efficient and user-friendly platform for reporting faults in neighborhoods.

What it does

Complaiddit is an interactive and user-friendly social discussion mobile app that aims to alleviate the labor shortage caused by an aging population. The application's goal is to create a fun and engaging web space where residents can collaborate and take ownership of fault reporting in their own neighbourhoods. Any residents can sign up and use our application features freely, such as creating posts for fault reporting, commenting on fault posts, up-voting and down-voting of posts, acknowledging the fault has been fixed, and always redeeming fun and exciting rewards while using the app.

How we built it

The project was built using a combination of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the user interface, and back-end technologies such as PocketBase (light-weight single file SQLite) for the server-side logic and data storage.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges faced during the development of Complaiddit was ensuring the smooth integration of all the different features and functionality. Additionally, we faced some challenges in testing the application to ensure that it is user-friendly and easy to use for people of all ages and technical abilities.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Complaiddit is an interactive and user-friendly app that encourages residents to collaborate and take ownership of fault reporting in their own neighbourhoods.
  • The application provides a fun and engaging experience that encourages participation.
  • The badge and redemption system was built to reward users for actively contributing by reporting faults in their neighbourhood.

What we learned

  • The importance of user-centered design and the need to create a fun and engaging experience to encourage participation.
  • Experience in developing interactive features such as the badge and redemption system.
  • The importance of testing and ensuring the app is user-friendly and easy to use for people of all ages and technical abilities.

What's next for TEAM 14_Complaiddit

  • Continuously improve the application based on user feedback
  • Integrate with smart city systems to improve the efficiency of the reporting system
  • Up-scaling our back-end for public release
